Did you bend the bent?
A note of caution
The semi-traditional mud patch on the trail by the Science Center (next to the submarine) apparently was pretty rutted up yesterday, then froze solid last night.
It's ridable, but not pleasant to hit at any speed. Especially in the dark, when one is casually riding one-handed whilst messing with the zipper on one's vest. Go ahead, ask one how one knows.
Nah, no spill. Just a few brief moments of excitement, with limbs flailing all over the place.
(I was on the Bianchi, with the freshly-mounted snow tires, anyway.)

Hey Dan, this won't help with the North Side but don't you come into town from out this way?
I'm a few blocks towards town from that bridge. From my perspective, it just means traffic on California/Lincoln is about to get heavier and faster again.
Alas! Well at least you'll be prepared for it.
I rode this way the past few mornings, the first time I hit it, realized it was ice (it was dark and my light wasn't bright enough), and stopped sloppily, mostly glad that I didn't get my khaki work pants muddy. day 2, it was less frozen, and got my shoes all muddy and gross. day 3 it was frozen solid, and I walked around it. eh.
