Anyone biked in Myrtle Beach?

I know that Lots of Pittsburghers go to Myrtle Beach for vacation and I'm wondering if anyone has ridden down there? I am thinking of renting a bike, I'll be there for the weekend coming up at the end of August.

Just want to know if anyone has experience down there. I'll be staying in North Myrtle.

i rode down there for a few days a couple years ago. i didn't go up to north myrtle beach, but where i did ride wasn't terribly bike-friendly. lots of roads that suddenly turned into highways and stuff like that. riding along the beach was pretty nice, though. low traffic and pretty. but in order to move away from the beach you have to cross highways, and i don't remember it being very amenable to bicycles. this may not apply to north myrtle beach, though. i have no idea about that.

Generally, Myrtle Beach traffic isn't bike friendly. Here are a few places I have found for relatively safe biking.

Cherry Grove Beach/Little River Neck- This is the far northern end of the Grand Strand and there isn't much traffic.

Drive to Southport, NC. Park your car and tour this delightful old town then take your bike on the Southport/Ft. Fisher Ferry across the Cape Fear River to tour the Civil War fort and the NC Aquarium.

The county seat for Horry county is Conway, SC. It is a beautiful southern town to explore on a bike. Again, I would drive there to bike.

There are designated bike trails in NMB that are along Ocean Drive and Bypass 17 but they aren't very pleasant or scenic. The bike rental place may be able to hook you up with a local club...if any have developed in that hostile environment.
