Has anyone come up yet with a ride to try to infiltrate the filming? (even though that's most likely impossible) I'd go see this flick if I knew there was going to be a scene with a bunch of people on bikes zipping through the background, say with pink feather boas or something...
Bike Fest Rides and Events - Street Closures
With Bike Fest approaching, and the deadline for submitting event ideas almost upon us (only a week left to be creative....) I thought it would be helpful to post a link to the scheduled downtown street closures associated with the filming of Batman. The date range of the closures overlaps almost perfectly with Bike Fest (August 9-21 for movie filming, August 12-21 for Bike Fest)

With a major motion picture like this, I HIGHLY doubt you would be able to infiltrate it without being noticed. I am also pretty sure that the Pittsburgh Police would have no problem with making sure bikes don't interfere with filming.
I thought the batman ride was the best bet.
try to get in by flattering the crew - "awe look at all the pedaling batmans, let 'em in."
if that don't work, then a few dozen batmans pedaling at infiltration speed from all points around the perimeter of the movie set will definitely get in.
absolutely no flaws I can see. easy peasey, lemon squeezey.
I am coming up with the route for the batcycle ride. I am going to try to find more specific details if I can and lead it close to the road closures downtown without getting in trouble.
Edit: Costumes are optional, but encouraged! I am going to look around for materials to make mine this weekend. Also, please bring lights. It is getting darker earlier. While the ride is at 6, I don't want anyone to be a bike ninja on the way home.
na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN!
(POW) (BAM)
na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na BATMAN!
They just don't make openers like that anymore.
Bat girl in the 60's tv show had the batbike (motorcycle). She made me want to be a librarian and ride a motorcycle. But I also wanted to fly helicopters (Airwolf) and drive a tricked-out mini-van (A-team). I was impressionable transportation-wise. Would have been nice to see a hero who took the bus.
@ejwme: The Greatest American Hero rode a school bus, at least in some episodes IIRC.
(Dear lord, I just realized I'm old.)
reddan - you can't be that old, when I ride down long hills I sing the theme song to that show "Believe it or Not, I'm [biking] on air, I never thought I could feel so free... [Cycling] away on a [bike] and a prayer, who could it be, believe it or not, it's just me..."
Okay, I was 6-ish when the show debuted.
Believe it or not, I just picked up the boxed set on DVD a few weeks back.
This just triggered some distant memory of (repeatedly) re-enacting the "Speed Racer" intro in my basement on my bicycle. I must have been really young, because our basement was not that big, and I have vague memories of a tiny bike with training wheels.
The only part I can really remember is the end part where he jumps out of the car and strikes a pose while the camera rotates 90'. I don't quite remember the details but I somehow "simulated" that part by rotating the bicycle.
Mike Post theme music gives me very icky feelings.
Man I loved Speed Racer, I called my Dad "Pops" for his entire life. Never saw the recent(er) movie remake, looked like it sucked too bad.
dj keoki mixed the speed racer intro to some very lewd results. can't think of it the same since hearing it.
