Bikes! Dirt! Booze(?!) Fun!
yay!
Casual group mountain bike ride in Frick. No-drop, all skill levels, relaxed wind-down for the week. Riding with all skill levels is a great way to learn new skills or take it easy and work on perfecting existing ones. Meet at the Lower Parking Lot (by soccer fields) at 6pm. Ride starts at 6:30, Picnicking starts when we are sick of riding and ends when we get kicked out of the park.
Bring something to grill and/or share, I'm bringing a little grill, hot dogs, and some soda.

Hopefully my grips finally dried in place, those bastards kept escaping on me last week.
Edit: I'll be bringing some watermelon and some cherry tomatoes from my garden.

Sorry I didnt stay for the after party. My girlfriend was supposed to meet me there with the watermelon, but she got tired of waiting and left. 
Today's ride was good, I think I'm starting to get the hang of things. I still need to work on log crossings though, I got foiled on most of them today from crank striking. I'll see you guys in two weeks, I'm off to the left coast next week.

any idea what the mileage was for that tonight?
the gps on my phone wasnt accurate for crap, so im just kind of clicking out a bunch of squiggily lines for the singletrack stuff when i cant figure out waht major trails we were on.
then again most of its going to be a guestimate, i was basically lost the moment i turned off of forbes ave.

I think sometime soon I'm going to break the ride in half and let the people who just want to ride go nuts and I'm going to stay at the bottom and do some skills work on cornering and logs and such with people.

a skills workshoppy thing sounds like it would be a bit more my speed than hurtling myself between trees screaming expletives under my breath.
when i want to ride for the thrils, i'll head downtown. 
i think i've been accustomed to pavement more than i am to the dirt.
