You probably saw my tracks deciding to not use the icy trail and take the streets via the detour instead. No one uses the detour.
Bright side of non-plowed trails
On the South Side trail this afternoon, it occurred to me that there would be a silver lining if the city falls through on plowing the trails this weekend: while most streets would be slushy and disgusting, we could roll through a lovely White Christmas.
Also, I found it interesting to look at the tire tracks and see where people had gone. For instance, I think there were around six tire tracks coming from Station Square, and all but a few took the "unofficial" trail rather than the official trail detour between 3rd and 5th Streets. I liked to see where other (serious) cyclists' preferred routes were.
Yesterday's storm in NYC. Photo from the interwebs.
So how/if that bike is locked is probably irrelevant under those conditions.
Wow!
I would love to be "stranded" in NYC
