Building Bicimaquinas with Maya Pedal

Hey yinz, I'm heading down south to work on a photo documentary project with my friend. Part of the project is documenting radical street art and the other part is volunteering with and documenting Maya Pedal, an NGO in San Andres Itzapa, Guatemala that helps build bicimaquinas for the local indigenous community. Bicimaquinas are bike powered machines like blenders, water pumps, drills and other machines to make daily life easier without electricity. Check out their site for more details.

We really need help fundraising though so we threw our project up on Kickstarter.com. If you could take a look, pass the word, and help out if you could, we would really appreciate it! Its called Solidarity South of the Border

For anyone thats been down there, let me know any cool spots to checkout! We'll also be in Chiapas. You can follow our adventure on our blog.
