I rode all the 16 miles last year on the Butler/Freeport trail?? It seemed finished to me?? Are they extendinding it another 4 miles so it will now be a 20 mile trail???

@Lenny -- Correct. Up till now the finished trail ended at Bonniebrook Road on the north side of the village of Herman. From that point on it was unfinished and was mountain bike rideable. It now will extend 4 more miles to just before the eastern city limits of Butler.

There is still a 1/2 mile section to be completed to the final terminus inside city limits in Marinaro Park that is waiting on a gas line relocation and bridge construction over a small stream knwon as Coal Run. But its basically done -- near enough so that we're having a celebratory grand opening on National Trails Day this coming Saturday.

@trailboss - I know who you are, and it's about time you joined this board instead of just being a lurker!! :>)

Hey, I've been busy.

@Cdavey, surface is getting better and better every day. Not near like the quick sand it was on Friday. Hit 21.4 mph coming down. Told you I can make my new bike fly.
