Can anybody help identify this "Paramount" frame?

This was sold to me as a Paramount, but I don't actually believe it is. It's a high-ish quality frame of some kind, but I can't seem to figure it out. It's been painted so the serial number is all but filled in. I can see where the stickers were, and they don't seem to match any Paramounts I've seen, noe have I seen a Paramount with this panto on the seat stay.

I don't think it's even a Schwinn, but I'll take anything with two wheels and a crank for the right price. Paid $150 for it as it sits.

Thanks for your help!

That P logo on the photo of the seatstays looks familiar.

I knew I recognized that from somewhere! Thank you! Couldn't put my finger on it. So it's basically along the same lines as a Panasonic or something of that ilk?

Schwinn filled bankruptcy in 1992. The Waterford WI shop that made the Paramount’s turned themselves into Waterford Precision Cycles. They could not use the trade marked Paramount name but would still put the “P” on the bicycles they made and said it stood for precision. You need to find the serial number on the bike to verify if it was made at the Waterford factory.

Ah, the number is obscured by the rotten paint job somebody slapped on it. Maybe later I can do some more digging.
