I ride from home to the montour trail. Going through the recently under construction area of the trail/under the bridge, I wound up picking up a piece of small metal into my tire. Take extra caution, not only is the road surface terrible, the construction crew doesn't like to clean up.
Don't recall if Montour Trail is under County Parks jurisdiction, but if so you might be able to report it via the County contact form at http://www.county.allegheny.pa.us/feedback/index.asp or call the County Parks Department at (412) 350-7275.
If I'm not mistaken, the ramp from 51 to the Montour Trailhead is in Moon Twp. Their 311-like system (the "Citizen Request System") is here: http://www.egovlink.com/moontwp/action.asp
theres also a scrap yard at the end of that road a piece of metal could of fallen off of a truck. also someone tried to break into my gas tank while i was parked there a few years ago i have a locking cap they tried to use a screwdriver on it
I popped back with a metal detector later in the day. I was finding bits up to the trail. Lets hope I found it all.
I hope they get this figured out, the big Montour trail ride is 9/22. That would suck.
