Conditon of Millvale/Sharpsburg Railroad Access Road

Now that the ice has melted, has anyone ridden the railroad section from Millvale to Sharpsburg in the last couple of days? If so, what is the condition of the trail? Is it muddy from the thaw and heavy rain? I have not been on it since the start of winter and would like an update on its condition.

I took the trail/access road in this morning and it is in the same shape as it was at the end of last year. You still have to walk your bike over the tracks under the 62nd Street Bridge because of the heavy rock. The trail is rocky/bumpy for the first quarter to half mile and then it is fine the rest of the way into Millvale.

Tires used: Kenda Kross Plus 26” x 1.95”

FYI: Parking area in Sharpsburg Riverfront Park on 13th is now cleaned up from all the flooding.

I was wondering if they're extending the trail past Millvale this year?? Rumor is it's going to hit Aspinwall this year.Does anyone have any info??

Had meeting a few weeks ago with some folks from Friends of the Riverfront about other topics, but the trail came up tnagentially, and I came away with the impression the trail wouldn't be complete through to Aspinwall anytime soon (insert frowny emoticon here).

I suspect that ALMKLM is right on this one. I suspect NS will eventually come around, but it won't be this year. (At least that is my guess.) So, expect to hear the occasional "you shouldn't be on this road" from the NS police/staff. They do that to protect their property interests along this corridor.
