awesome i cannot wait to ride on it. I am going to ride back and forth on it like a dozen times for good measure.

Thank the Lord! That's the way I bike in and out of Oakland and it was a bit painful at times, although probably more for my bike's suspension than for me.

they were repaving yesterday around 3 or so. it was definitely done by 7 last night.

and it's niiiiiice.

i wonder if they'll get to the stretch between morewood and neville any time soon. it's not as car-traffic-heavy so it's easier to avoid the bunkers, but it would be nice to not have to constantly swerve.

Yeah, IMO that was the section that needed it a lot more than what they worked on.

maybe in terms of road conditions, yeah, but there are just a lot more cars on the amberson-to-aiken stretch, and i've always felt (coming east, at least) that the road conditions made it very difficult to play nice with traffic and the parked cars.

that always bugged me because i use that road all the time (both biking and walking) and a lot of the time, i see more cyclists there than even on the jail trail. so one would hope it would be one of the more bike-friendly roads, but that wasn't the case.

yeah, it is definitely the best bike road into oakland and many people use it who come up out of the hollow from the jail trail to neville. would have been cool if it had gotten the wightman treatment ;)

I figure the lane stripes aren't nearly as important as getting rid of the rutsnridges. It's very difficult to ride safely when the road surface keeps trying to throw you off.
