Four foot passing violation court hearing

If anyone is in the South Hills next Monday afternoon, there is a hearing scheduled for 3:15 PM on October 28, at District Magistrate Blaise Larotonda's office in Mt. Lebanon. Address: 680 Washington Rd, Suite B103, Pittsburgh, PA 15228 I recorded this driver on my video camera and submitted it to the Mt Lebanon Police in June. This was their first experience with the four foot passing law, and they have been very positive in communicating with me in the time since it was written.

I won't be there, but good luck, man. You are the shizzle when it comes to getting this law enforced.

I may be able to show up, but it will have to be last minute scurrying.

Can't make it, but please keep us informed. If you want to write something up about your experience, and the outcome for our blog, this seems like a good thing for content and will no doubt be useful for folks all over the state. email me if interested and we can work on something together: eric@bikepgh.org

Guilty, specifically of the four foot passing law violation. I don't know if any of you have been in District Magistrate Larotonda's court room, but he is a very passionate person. He absolutely ripped into the driver, whose defense was "but he wasn't riding along the curb" and "he passed a line of cars on the right." He even copied "the law about cyclists" and brought highlighted copies for everyone. They were thrown aside in the midst of the "If someone did that to you, or your kids, you'd be ready to kill them" rant from the judge.

I know him pretty well. I could ask him. He was a Lebo police officer for 25 years before he became magistrate, he knows the law.
