frame painting

I have a Trek 520 frame that began developing some rust around the bottom bracket a number of years ago. I tried stripping priming and repainting the affected areas myself, but that only held for a few years. What might it cost to have this done professionally, and might it be worth it? I am open to any and all suggestions.

I got a couple of frames powder coated at Allegheny Metal Finishing several years ago. I think it was under $100 per frame, but that was a while ago. http://www.amfcoatings.com/AMF_HOME.htm

Reddan does powder coating. Excellent work too.

Thanks for the kind words, Rusty! I'm listed on the Bike-PGH Member Discounts page, if you're interested.

Several applications of naval jelly followed by some of the rustoleum rusty metal primer with zinc added will cheaply fix most problems... if you wanted to preserve the current paint job. Otherwise, I definitely think a good powder coat is the way to go. @reddan, do you work on non bike stuff, like a 20x30"-ish cast iron radiator? I might have one that needs rehabbed in the near future.
