Getting to the Montour trail from downtown?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

What's the best route to get from downtown to the Coraopolis trailhead of the Montour? I'm thinking about taking the riverside trail past the casino, crossing the McKees Rocks Bridge, Island Ave -> Neville Rd -> Grand Ave, and then taking State Ave to get on the trail.

I've never been on most of this route (starting with the McKees Rocks Bridge), so are there any really hairy sections I should be aware of or avoid with an alternate route? I bike to work Downtown from Bloomfield everyday on Liberty if this helps clarify my general road comfort level.

Thanks!

@Ted: Your suggested route will be just fine. (Note that the Calfornia Ave/65/Marshall Ave interchange is under construction, so you may wish to choose Eckert->McClure->Termon to get to the McKees Rocks Bridge.)

Alternatively, if you're talking Saturday or Sunday morning, simply taking 51 from town all the way to Neville Island is perfectly reasonable.

My preference: Trail to just short of the jail (Doerr St), L Beaver, R Eckert, L McClure, L Antrim, R Fleming, L Davis, cross California, to end of street, descend steps. You are now right at the 65/Rox Bridge intersection. Sidewalks on the bridge are open, despite the "closed" signs leftover from the 2009 renovation. Note that if you use the sidewalks, it's a two-hop trip to get across the bridge, as you have to exit at Helen St, cross Helen, and get back onto the sidewalk to finish. OTOH I've never had trouble with the bridge itself. Traffic speeds are high, but there's plenty of space, and sight lines are good, both directions.
