Would this be a good use of the park shelters in the winter? Like an outdoor spin class? I don't do this kind of training: the idea just occurred to me.
group sufferfest?
Now that winter is starting is there any interest getting together for a BYO bike/trainer group trainer ride? Particularly for ridiculously long times (3 hours). I have no idea what space could work for this but I thought I'd throw this out there. Someone on another message board brought it up and it got me thinking.
Hah. I think the point of trainers is so you don't have to go out in the cold
If it helps any, one of the local bike shops here hosts this exact type of event. Group rides in the bike shop! Maybe contact one or two larger local establishments?
I want a trainer!
I assume the cold is one factor, but bad roads is a bigger one.
I have a trainer and I'm interested (though I'm not sure I am in for 3 hours! . I was thinking about taking a few spinning classes over the holidays.
ProBikes is thinking of getting a spin class going in their remodeled upstairs space, I hear.
The tri club does this for our members at Top Gear but it's for dorky triathletes only. lol
Velomuse is been thinking of having some spinning sessions during the winter, but we're still on the planning stages. If people are interested, I can try to find out more and post the information once I know.
