Help the Steel Valley Trail Council plan a party.
I wanted to put this notice out on the Bike Pgh board because I know there are a lot of very talented and community-oriented folks here. We need help to plan an event next summer celebrating the completion of the trail by Sandcastle. You don't have to become a member of the SVTC, although we'd love to have you, but you do have to be interested in committing your time to helping us plan a really kick ass party to celebrate this long-awaited trail completion. (BTW, the SVTC is a non-profit group that stewards the trail running from the Baldwin Borough trail to McKeesport, including Clairton.)

"The Steel Valley Trail Council (SVTC) is looking for volunteers to join our event planning committee.
The section of trail that cyclists in Pittsburgh have all been waiting for, the "gap" in the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), is finally about to be completed. After years of waiting, next summer should see the completion of the trail connecting the Waterfront in Homestead with the Baldwin Borough/South Side Trail and Downtown Pittsburgh. So now is the time to celebrate! Help us plan a celebration of the trail to be held early next summer.
If you are interested in promoting the riverfront trails, celebrating this trail completion, or just love planning a party, you are welcome to join us. Please contact us at info@steelvalleytrail.org . You can also hook up with us at the SVTC Annual Member Meeting at the Pump House, in the Homestead Waterfront, on Monday, November 19 at 5 p.m. We're looking for you!"
