"Hey, Erica, why don't you take these three cakes home with you today?"

Soooo, I was recently promoted from the production manager of the Strip District Mancini's to the manager of the Market Square store, which shares a space with Prantl's bakery. And today, I was commenting on how good their coffee cake looked, when their manager said she had three full-size cakes that were old and she couldn't sell, and that I could take them home. I didn't bring a milk crate (which they could easily fit into), so I tied them together with that gold ribbon they use to keep the boxes closed:

Then broke the handles on two t-shirt bags. I placed the boxes on the rack, and put the bags upside-down over them, and tied it to the rack. Then, I went to CVS to see if they had any twine, and they looked at me like I was insane. So I bought some mounting tape and taped all around the whole thing. It was actually, a really effective, yet wobbly setup.

It got me from mkt square to Parkvale bank on grant, then to the strip district store, and then downtown on smithfield to catch a bus. I had to cut up the bag and the tape to get it off, and the cakes were relatively undamaged.

I can't say the same for the bags used:

(It's kind of sad that this was the highlight of my day. She told me I could take them at about 7am, and I was dreaming up how I was going to transport them while running errands the whole time I was on the clock.)

haha, they're in my freezer right now. maybe they'll be part of my carbo loading station for when the dirty dozen riders go past my house (if me and my roommate don't eat them by then)

Your last name isn't MacGyver, is it?

Seriously, that is a really impressive setup!
