You should double check me on this but the last time I was in South Park they had "limedstoned" some major portions of trail. I am told those trails will take you to the Montour Trail. So from there one of the stops on Brightwood will get you close enough. From there drop in via Twin Hills Rd.

AFAIK you are only allowed to embark/disembark at high-level stops when taking your bike on the T. Logan isn't a high-level stop, so if you wanted to go to the Irishtown trail head you would need to get off at either Lytle or West Library and ride back down 88 to Logan. Having said that, I believe there is trail access off of Knights Drive - you could get off at Library or West Library and ride over there.

You do need a high level stop. Brightwood is one, speaking from experience.

Hi Lynn, I can't say I know the area, but depending on which spur of the trail you'd like to start at, you might want the terminal Library Station. You wouldn't be on it for all that long, and in any case there may be an option to ride on a sidewalk. (Edited to delete reference to Logan Station, which, as indicated above, is a low-level "stop," not a high-platform "station" and thus inaccessible to bikes.) The board strikes again. Sorry I didn't know the exact name of the T stop I ride past 3 times a week.

I do this all the time. Library is the best stop. West Library isn't bad, but there's a sketchy intersection you have to deal with. From Library, take the parking lot to Pleasant Street, then at Brownsville climb onto the sidewalk, which will take you to the shoulder of Library Road. The road is adequate for the short trip to Royal Drive (the Lindenbrooke Apartments driveway), though the narrow shoulder goes away in some spots. An alternative: on Pleasant Road, just after you cross the T tracks, turn right onto Church Street. It leads to a parking lot which exits onto Library Road a short way from Royal Drive. I don't bother with it, though. It'll be nice when they extend the Montour Trail to Pleasant Street in a few years.
