I rode through on the boulevard on my way to work at around 8:15. As with the Steelers parade, I was surprised to see people lined up that early for a noon event.

i called off today so i could miss the parade all together. i'm glad the pens won but when the city fills up with thousands of pedestrians, riding a bike can become a chore. and i hate chores.

I rode into town just before noon. I don't usually have trouble getting around during a parade, but this time they had barricaded off the entire length of the streets. But it wasn't really a problem, I just rode around the parade route and back in the open end from Ft Duq Blvd. I did ride down an alley, and one block on the sidewalk instead of using the Smithfield St bus lane (I figured the latter was more likely to get me hassled by the cops around), but no one-way streets.

I'm too heavy for anyone to call me Lance :(
