When I went to NYC. I remember canal st. was so crowded. It was like the strip district x20. That area could really benefit from wider sidewalks.

there's a video showing 34th and 7th ave in NYC, and exactly how crowded they get. There's also a good comparison as to how much space is taken up by pedestrians, cyclists, transit, and cars.
This seems like what we see in the Strip on saturdays here.
