McKeesport to Pittsburgh

Hey There,

I'm riding solo this week from Maryland to Pittsburgh. (On me little Bike Friday!). I know the trail stops in McKeesport. I know it's not a direct way getting to Pittsburgh. Can anybody give me some directions. I'm used to riding in urban traffic. I commute around Baltimore everyday, so I'm used to riding in the city. I want to stay at the Priory Hotel, which from what I can tell is not from far from Point Park (the official end of the GAP). I'm leaving Wednesday so any help would be greatly appreciated. It's my first solo ride.

Thanks much,

Alonzo

The route I've been taking is this fellow.

The interchange in McKeesport is disgusting, and there are some pretty big hills, but it's doable. If you're laden, I hope you have a triple. The E. Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard is build like a freeway in places, but barely trafficked at all. Another warning— a lot of the Mon Valley towns are pretty depressed, so you'd probably want to pass through them before dark.

Thanks alot. This definitely helps. Appreciate you getting back. I'm still psyched. I don't know kilometers. How many miles you think?
