New Discounts for Bike Pittsburgh Members

I'm working out the details for a discount with a massage therapist and just confirmed one with the Yoga Hive!

If you ride your bike to The Yoga Hive, you can get $2 off of a drop-in class or 10% off of a class package. You've got to bring your helmet in + show your current Bike Pittsburgh member card to get this discount.

I highly encourage Bike Pittsburgh members to ask for your discounts because every time a business owner hears "Bike Pittsburgh" and "member" is another time they realize that people who use their business ride bikes.

I think this will start to erode the idea that people who drive are the only people who shop and support their businesses.

One enthusiastic volunteer told me last night that he asks almost everywhere he goes if they offer discounts to Bike Pittsburgh members and they almost always give him one anyway.

So this can help you save money as well as constantly promoting the idea that people who ride bikes are out there. Stimuatin the economy, supporting local businesses, and being rad.

So be nice to us on the road, and join us!

the caravan people (guy?) beat me to the punch by like 2 years.

this was going to be my "now that the mortgage is paid and i've learned how i can actually have fun" job. except I was going to have a bike with a trailer full of tools and do road-side service and house calls instead... in my head it is doable because by that time I'll have developed thighs of steel, and found time to learn how to do repairs. yeah, it was awesome in my head.

I'm really glad someone else is making a go of the awesomeness :D someday I need to act on my myriad of fantastic ideas.

I'm headed to yoga tonight, this was just the nudge I needed at exactly the right time :D

Lolly - you keep rocking :D

You are making me blush!

I bet in two years there will be enough demand for two of these businesses! Have fun at yoga!

I've been sampling the yoga hive's classes and instructors - gotta say they are pretty universally awesome, much better than any other yoga place I've tried in the city (with one exceptional exception that occures with frustrating rarity).

Did the math on the class passes and the monthly attendance... I gotta say I'm probably going to spring for a month rather than use the discount, I like their classes too much. But I'll still ride my bike :D
