Pedal Pittsburgh - Road Closures

I was just re-reading the ride description and was wondering about the road closures. What roads will be closed as part of the ride?

....I found this and I think I can figure it out from here: http://www.showclix.com/event/232747

Thinking out loud (or by typing in this case):

...Any chance the bike rental place might be open early on this Sunday? I am going to try to convince a couple of friends who want to "try" biking to come out and ride. This looks like a good opportunity for some flat riding for them on closed roads.

If you're thinking about renting bikes for that day call them now and reserve. They may already be sold out, I know for big events like this they have been in the past.

Thanks, first - I have to rally some bike-curious folks. :)

The roads closed for the event are:

The Birmingham Bridge

Carson Street between the Bridge and 26th

26th Between Tunnel Blvd and Carson

The other car free sections will make use of the Three Rivers Heritage Trails making for a 2-20mile (more if you want to do loops) route around town.

Hope to see you at the Ride.

Is it both sides (directions) of the bridge, or just one side?

Both directions of the Birmingham Bridge will be closed to car traffic. Bring your camera for a picture with downtown as the backdrop.
