Pittsburgh Calling Alleycat + Polo Weekend Oct 25+26

Pittsburgh Calling

Pittsburgh Calling to the faraway towns... and the locals.

Locals: Please send this to your out of town friends!

October 25th

Strip Sprints - In the early afternoon test your flat out speed in a bracketed two-up sprint series.

Main Event - Turning Rebellion into Money. Competitive and fun class. Essentially a choice between a short and long course, competitive or just for kicks with friends. Time penalties issued to USCF license holders, sandbaggers and anyone else we like in the Competitive Class.

Afterparty - Prizes, music, refreshments. Better than the "usual."

October 26th

Polo Tournament - Pittsburgh hosts its second bike polo tournament. Things are getting competitive, get your practice in and pull a team together. This will start pretty early to get all the games in, so be sure to party yourself into proper game shape the evening before.

Details, locations etc will be available at www. pghalleycat. com as the date comes near.

Out of towners - Get in touch! We want you to come to Pittsburgh and experience our fine city. We have housing available for the weekend and promise a good time.

Awesome. Hopefully I will break my string of crushing defeats in Brad/Erok organized Halloween alleycats, going back as far as the Spirit of the Streets.

Spirit of the Streets! Woah, that was a long time ago. October 2005, ended at Duke's. An era passed.

Yep. I was 2nd to last on that one, then forgot a checkpoint on the "Mommy, Can I Go Out And Ride Tonight) one and had to backtrack massively, then lost my manifest 3/4ths of the way through "Bark At The Mon" last year and dropped out... so maybe I'm due to bottom out with DFL this time?

Always an awesome time, regardless of my personal results.

This is tomorrow people. Lots of prizes in the form of bags from Girl Bike Dog, Crumpler, Banjo Bros and Bagaboo along with some clothing from Spokepunchers and assorted Urban Velo stuff.

Some beer. Maybe even a bike powered blender.

Due to weather and general lack of enthusiasm, Sprints appear to be off. Race will go on! It will be good. The format is pretty killer.

Was Spirit of the Streets the race where Nick dressed as an Amish guy, with the one less buggy sticker on his milk crate?
