PMTCC Rides 2015

Sunday, July 12 7:00am PMTCC 3 State Tour and 3 Rivers Trail Family Rides When: Sun, July 12, 7:00am – 2:30pm Where: Aero Tech Designs Apparel; 2345 Preble Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233 (map) Description: http://www.active.com/pittsburgh-pa/cycling/races/pmtcc-3-state-and-3-rivers-tour-2015?int= The 2015 PMTCC 3 State Tour is a bicycle ride starting in Southwest Pennsylvania and heads west entering into the states of West Virginia and Ohio. This is a scenic road ride with a few long hill climbs, rolling hills and some flat roads. Two 3 State Tour options are available, an 85-mile route beginning in Pittsburgh, PA and a metric century (62-miles) route beginning in Neville Township, PA. The 3 State Tour follows PA state routes 51 S and 151 S before heading west to RT 30 leaving Pennsylvania and riding to Chester, West Virginia to see the world's largest teapot. After leaving the "teapot" cyclists continue riding along RT. 30 on the Lincoln Highway Bridge to cross the Ohio River into Ohio riding along SR 39 riding towards Midland, PA and then using RT 68 East to enter Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania, cyclists will pass through the towns of Beaver, Bridgewater, Rochester, Monaca, Aliquippa, Ambridge and Sewickley before crossing back over the Ohio River into Coraopolis picking up SR 51 North to return to Neville Township. The 85-mile route riders will continue on to Pittsburgh completing the tour. This is a supported ride which includes SAG, a lunch voucher, route cue sheets, and painted road arrows showing the turns. Event details and schedule 85-mile 3 State Tour Ride Cyclists will meet at the Aero Tech Designs Apparel parking lot at 2345 Preble Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15233. Registration for this ride begins at 7:00 am with a 7:15 am pre-ride meeting and cyclists will depart promptly at 7:30 am. Free parking is provided. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/8677200 Metric Century 3 State Tour Ride This ride begins at the Neville Township Port Authority Park N Ride located at Hubert Ave off Grand Ave near the Kings restaurant in Neville Township, PA. Registration begins at 7:15 am with a 7:45 am pre-ride meeting and cyclists will depart promptly at 8:00 am meeting up with the cyclists riding from Pittsburgh on the 85-mile route. Free parking is available at the Port Authority Park N Ride. Cue sheet available at http://ridewithgps.com/routes/8677337 Cyclists registering for the 85-mile or metric century ride, will be given a voucher to purchase lunch at the Subway in Midland. Online pre-registration for the 3 State Tour is $35. Event day registration is $40. The first 100 riders who pre-register will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt. 3 Rivers' Trail Family Ride A 5-20 mile trail ride option is available for cyclists and families who want to ride along Pittsburgh's 3 Rivers Trail System. Registration cost is $20 and the ride starts at 9am Free parking is provided at the Aero Tech Designs Apparel parking lot at 2345 Preble Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 1523. Registration begins at 8:30 am with riders departing at 9:00 am to access the trail. Helmets are required for all rides. Children under the age of 18-years of age must be accompanied by an adult. All cyclists are required to sign the PMTCC ride waiver. All rides will be held rain or shine. Twin Lakes Ride with Barb (43 miles with hills no drop ride) Date: Saturday, June 27th Time: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Meeting Place: Giant Eagle, 4810 Old William Penn Highway, Export, PA 15632, United States The Twin Lake leaves from the parking lot at Giant Eagle (4810 Old William Penn Hwy, Export, PA) Ride will leave at 9 AM sharp. It is a no drop ride, about 43 miles with a 2,400 ft elevation gain. Rain cancels. ============================================================ Three State Tour Tune-up Road Ride (a/k/a Mini-Three State Ride—if McKees Rocks, Coraopolis and Neville Island were states) Distance: 31 miles with 2 medium climbs, 1 major climb Date: Sunday, June 28th Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Meeting Place: OTB; 2518 East Carson Street Rain Date: Saturday July 4th @ 10:00 am Notes: Except for water/gel/energy bar breaks, this will be a non-stop ride. Out and back in 2.5 hours (we’ll see how that one works out). This is a cool course. I’ve done it twice. Perfect challenge two weeks before THE Three State Ride. Questions? Comments? 10:00am 12 Bridges, 3 Rivers, 21 Miles When: Sat, July 11, 10am – 1pm Where: Tazza D'Oro, 1125 N. Highland, Highland Park (map) Description: Hang your butt over the side of 12 bridges as you ride on this fun riverside route! As the name implies, we'll cross 12 Bridges on this 21-mile, all-city-roads ride. What could be more fun than riding and admiring some of Pittsburgh's major creations from the seat of your bike? Free to all. Maps and directions provided. PMTCC Tour de Red Belt Ride Date: Sunday, August 23rd Time: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Meet at: Golden Triangle Bike Rental, 600 1st Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club is hosting our annual Tour de Red Belt. Offering a new metric century (62 miles) route this year, we will start at Golden Triangle Bike Rental in downtown Pittsburgh and head out through Etna, up Saxonburg Boulevard, West towards Bakerstown and Warrendale. The route will then head South through Bellevue, ending back at the starting point. There is no cost for the ride. Donations will be accepted at event day registration benefiting Bike Pittsburgh, in support of Bike Fest. Pre-registration is encouraged and available until Friday, August 21.
