Podcamp Pittsburgh this weekend and the Kulu Valley Bike Project

I'm missing flock tonight, because I'm a lead organizer for podcamp pittsburgh, which has a bike-related element for this year, so I'm using this for shameless self-promotion.

Podcamp is a social media unconference (meaning free and casual) which gets a whole bunch of people together to discuss and learn about all things social media, content management, podcasting, blogging, citizen journalism, using all these tools to benefit you, your business, your non-profit in all sorts of ways.

Want to learn how to develop better relationships with your customers through twitter?

Want to learn how to better engage with your local community online?

Want to see how others are managing their online content streams?

Want to learn how having a facebook account can bring people to your business?

Legal ramifications of blogging?

Advertising on social media?

Activism?

Storytelling?

Wordpress?

Drupal?

If any of these things vaguely interest you, you should put podcamp into your schedule. We've got 60 sessions of a pretty wide variety of topics with 575 registered attendees.

Saturday and sunday, 9-4 at the Art Institute (420 Blvd of the Allies). Registration is closed, but feel free just to walk in, no registration is required.

You can find all the information you might need, including a full schedule at http://podcamppittsburgh.com

Kulu Valley Bike Project, run by some of the folks of our lovely cycling community will be doing a presentation titled "Kullu Valley Bike Project and the Social Media Marketing Dependence: How Social Media is used exclusively to promote a project a world away" and you can find more info about the project here: http://www.kvbp.org/ Their presentation is 10-1045 on sunday.

There is also a meet and greet tonight at Alphalab (2325 East Carson) if you're interested in going to podcamp, or even just want to swing by and see what sort of people will be there to test the waters. The meet and greet is from 7-9, with free beer, free wine and free food from Las Velas. Can't lose.

The short of it, podcamp pittsburgh, this weekend, saturday and sunday, come hang out and learn cool stuff, kulu valley bike project, meet and greet tonight!

Hope to see some of you this weekend. PM me with any questions.

Unfortunately, I won't be making podcamp, due to the ROS/Ghost Bike Lock-Up.
