Ride directions to the Quip Crit

Was wondering if there is a relatively easy/safe route to ride to the Aliquippa Crit from the city?

Hopefully Steevo will chime in. You can take 51 the whole way out in the morning. Stoops Ferry is a hard climb but that's about it.

I've forgotten the way we road back. Primarily it was on the east side of the Ohio. It's a long day, probably 90 mins from the West End bridge.

I'd suggest McKees Rocks-->Neville Island-->Rt 51 to South Heights, then hop over to Woodlawn St (via a right on North a bit past 151) and parallel 51 to Steel St.

[Edited to add:] Mayhew's not kidding about Stoops Ferry. :-)

Word.

Wont be there, but will ride to the next one maybe.

I would go west carson or northside to the west end bridge.

Get on 51 take it all the way through mckees rocks

right on neville island bridge.

come back over through coriopolis

51 again (bike route s)

Decision time.

A) (cuts out stooops fairy) Sewickley bridge through downtown, left at like 3rd light and follow to ambridge. cross ambridge bridge back onto 51.

B) follow 51 whole way. Stoops fairy included with the car on the roof.

follow 51, there is like an exit on the right for quip, and the industrial park is at the bottom of the ramp under the train tracks.

If you are cracked on the way home, stop in sewickley at the bakery like mayhew and i did.

Thanks for the directions guys. I'm still up in the air as to ride up and do the Quip crit or drive down to WV and do New Martinsville. Pretty sure I'll have my ass handed to me either way...

Some other guys and I are thinking of doing the same thing (ride to Aliquippa), maybe we could link up and get lost together.
