Ride to the Hilly Billy Roubaix?

Just decided I can make this, got everything lined up except a ride down.

Hook a brother up?

I thought you were suggesting riding to the start. I believe that would make you a supreme hard man.

You may want to consider (temporarily) signing up for the ACA mailing list and posting your query there, too.

85 miles down, 70 miles racing, 85 miles back.

If I had 3 days I'd be down with that. I do not have 3 days.

I am sad I didn't know of this ahead of time and didn't do it.

I did it on my rando bike, with a slick 32 in back, and a 28 in front. Those were the fattest tires that would fit. My shoulders and forearms hurt from all the time spent clutching the brakes in terror, and from being slammed up and down by all of the huge rocks and potholes. If I ever do it again, I'm definitely bringing some serious rubber.

Haha I have a new full suspension downhill bike.. I know the feeling of cramping hands from death gripping brakes.

I was dumb and rode 28s with 110psi.

The key to riding stuff like that with skinny tires without rattling your eyeballs out is speed. Get going fast enough to float over top of things. I got more beat up on the flat bumpy bits after I was too tires to blast over the rough stuff.

Take this advise with a grain of salt. I won't be running 28s again.
