Sandcastle?

A month ago, the Post-Gazette broke the story that a deal with Sandcastle concerning the Great Allegheny Passage cutting through their property was imminent. "I really expect we'll have a formal announcement in the next couple days," said James Judy, vice president of operations for Palace Entertainment, owner of the park. "I believe that is probably going to be the case," agreed county spokesman Kevin Evanto.

And there was much rejoicing.

So, what ever happened to that? I watched the news in anticipation for the official announcement but there was absolutely nothing.

I was also wondering the same thing??? I was going to post this same subject a couple weeks ago, but thought maybe I missed hearing the announcement of letting cyclists go through sandcastle.I am now getting concerned after not hearing anything for a month. What's going on?? Are they still undecided?

still no agreement has been made so there's nothing to announce I guess. hopefully we'll get some news sooner than later.

Considering this has been going on for several decades, I'm not holding my breath. It's just disappointing that everyone got so excited over what appears to have been just another mirage.

Or...optimistic cynic that I am...the announcement has been postponed to fit an Onorato for Governor campaign announcement/event.

Yea, that would be par for the course, wouldn't it. Nothing like a little political posturing to move things along.

On the plus side and a tangentially related note, I was driving across the Rankin Bridge yesterday and saw that one of the ramps on the Whitaker Flyover Bridge appears complete.
