Ooh, Buncher, owners of the fugliest piece of man-made nastiness on these three rivers, the delightful Gateway View Plaza on West Carson. Lovely.

among other things. also the equally fugly office complexes along penn between 12th & 16th, and on Liberty from 18th or so to 28th. Also that big dumb warehouse thing in Lawrenceville, three or four blocks off Butler in the middle of an otherwise largely residential area...

I think they're responsible for most the ugly warehouse-turned-office buildings on Washington's Landing, too, now that I think about it. In fact, I can't off the top of my head think of anything of theirs that isn't ugly...

Do I need to be there by 6 or can I stroll in?

I was there. I tried to capture the meeting on video with my helmet cam, but the results were poor. The audio did not pick up the speakers' voices, and the slide presentation is an overexposed blur.

That aside, the meeting was well attended, possibly 60-75 people. There were at least five speakers, each of whom detailed their findings, suggestions, and plans.

The piece I found most interesting was the bit about Heth's Run. PennDOT plans to replace the bridge over Heth's Run in the next year or two. What bridge? They had a picture of the bridge before Heth's Run was filled in. It's what you know as Butler Street by the zoo entrance. Heth's Run itself runs through an 84" culvert under the zoo parking lot and the bridge, emptying straight into the river. Some of this will change along with the bridge project because it has to. As to replacing the "concrete glacier" of the zoo parking lot with a permeable surface, that's in the plan, but I don't recall how definite that is. It is to include a regulation size soccer field, among other things.

You found that part more interesting that putting in a state of the art, gamechanging 6.2 mile commuter bikeway that could see over 2000 riders a day!!!???

But, yeah, the Heth's run project is cool too.

I was disappointed to hear that the "best case" for the commuter bikeway was 3 years out. The Heth's Run story was, for me, an eyeopener as to just why that area is as hosed up as it is. It will be great to be able to bike from Downtown to Highland Park on a safe route.
