sometimes it's the little things in life that make me smile
saw this downtown on Penn. twas a 15 minute loading zone. i imagine the parking person being stoked to make this happen. every time someone would come out of a building and see this, they'd make that laugh like the bully on the simpsons.
They didn't put the orange warning sign on the window. I hope this person fails to notice and tries to drive it.
With the wheel clearance the Hummer has, that person could probably drive away while doing minimal, if any, damage to his car.
Wasn't there an article in the paper this morning about the boot patrol? If I remember correctly it said that a vehicle had to have several (maybe as many as 5) unpaid citations against it, totalling more than a lot of money, and that the citations had to be more than 30 days delinquent. It quoted a guy who said his car was worth less than the cost of the citations and the boot removal, so he never reclaimed it.
This was not a random parking violation in other words. The guy must be a repeat offender.

I haven't been watchful lately, but when the boot first came in, every car that got one was either worth less than the fine would be, or was from out of state.
I'm guessing there were a lot of out of state students that thought they could get away parking anywhere and not paying tickets.
I'm guessing that particular military-wanna-be StupidUselessVehicle was out of state.

@ Mick:
It had florida plates
I've done the FL-PA drive in a smaller car, and I don't even want to guess what it cost them in gas to do it in that behemoth.
Give the guy a break! Where else are you going to park something that big!
Don't they usually put some big, yellow sign in your window to tell you you've been booted and to not drive off?

They used to.
The boot was also a bright orange color, too. Now the color is nicely coordinated with the detailing on black SUV's.
I wonder if, in Europe, where they have 3-story bike parking garages, if they have boots for bikes?

I think it's called a U-Lock that you don't have the key to.
