I'd love to go to that, but the time and place are impossible for me. (The time impossible, the place just damned difficult.)

I'm with Mick; even if I wanted to get to that, that's just waaay too early for us working folks. Even 6 is pushing it. To get there, looks like a P7 McKeesport is the bus of choice, from downtown. The 61C is a slow-boat-to-China bus which would be great if your meeting was 7 or 7:30, even if coming from Oakland. I don't know that side of town well at all, but I've heard some rotten stuff about trying to ride 837. How much crap would I be in for if I came across the Rankin Bridge from a P1 East Busway bus and just took the lane coming up the hill towards Kennywood at the height of rush hour? McKnight Road is three lanes outbound; I believe 837 is only two.

@Stu, not sure. If it were me I'd take the trail to E Waterfront to E 8th to Whitaker up the hill, but it's a moot point since I won't be able to get there either-- the location is ok, but with work I wouldn't be able to get there before 6:30.

@Stu 837 isn't so bad. It's fast, but has decent shoulders along a lot of it. It's a pretty wide road up until the Rankin bridge coming from Homestead. Then you might have to take a lane. Google Maps would jog my memory. I used to ride around 837 somewhat often.

Thank you for the feedback regarding time and location for our STVC meetings. Our next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Pump House on MAY 20. We hope this time will be more accessible to the public. We will be discussing June 15 celebration details, trail maintenance activities, and construction updates. The public can feel free to sit in on the meeting and ask questions of council members before and after. (There will not be a Q&A session during the actual meeting) SVTC is always looking for new volunteers to assist with our weekly rides, trail maintenance, and community activities.
