sti shifters

so i'm not the best at all these new fangled bike technologies... i'm trying to put a cable in this 9 speed sti shifter and the thing just doesn't go through... i put it through the hole i see and it just seems to get lost in the abyss... is there a trick to this or am i just dumb.

google is being frustratingly unhelpful

shift the shifter into what would be the hardest gear (no cable tension) and then route it through the shifter.

new dura ace cables work the best or else you could fray it.

also take the cable housing out the other side and

make sure you can see day light through it all.

You can also do the weird thing where you squeeze

the brake lever and bring it into the handlebar so

you can see it just go through the first part, then

route it through the second part into the housing.

If you are having cable fraying issues, dab super

glue on the end. that is the new pro thing, no

cable ends, just super glue. you heard it here first

thanks, i will try these when i get home... i didn't have the cablehousing on, but i also couldn't see daylight coming through... its good to know thats a possibility... i think i'm going to try to do the weird thing...

I use solder instead of glue.

when will they repackage superglue and charge 10 times as much?
