Same thing happened to me around that same time. Mine was stolen from my garage. Ill let you know if i get any good advice.

Stolen 21-speed mountain bike
I was on vacation from June 23rd to July 3rd and sometime during those weeks my bike (which was locked to a tree in front of my apartment building) was stolen. It is a 21-gear purple, blue, and white mountain bike. Some distinguishing factors: custom-made black cushioned bike seat, a green "fairfax apts" permit sticker (from when I lived there), brakes that don't work well, and slightly raggedy handles. I live in the Devon Towers in Shadyside/Oakland.
