Sorry to hear that, how was it locked up? It helps to know for educational purposes.

Also, get rid of the serial from your post or else any one who sees this post can claim it's theirs.

Good luck getting it back.

**How do you delete/edit a post? Thanks for the advice though but I could not find how to do that?

As far as how the bike was stolen - I, along with about 6 other people, keep our bikes inside our apartment building - it is sort of a lobby/hallway area.

There is no way to lock the bike up in there, but I had hoped that was better than locking it outside the building.

Another tenant left the door open and I guess then someone came and took it.

Everybody in the building is just very shocked because someone had entered the apartment building that looks like a normal house - we live in a good neighborhood (Squirrel hill, on forbes) and would never had expected this. Everybody else in the building with a bike in the same place as mine was is taking more caution with their bikes.

If that is the only way to store your bikes I would suggest u-locking the rear wheel to the seat tube at the very least. This way a bike thief can't just roll away.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I just recently had my Novara bike stolen but was reunited when a guy bought it off the street and called REI because he thought it was stolen. I shared your info with the Bike Shop guys and Management team at REI so if anybody calls with info about your bike we'll let you know.
