The invisible man

That is what I feel like. I actually had to stop on the ride home from the gym and hand out at my sister's house (she lives between the gym and my house) because I was getting sick of be crowded cut off and on at least two separate events aimed at.

I have no idea why people seem to be in such a foul mood. it is friday night after all and I am (was) enjoying it. I guess my 6 foot 2 inch 350#+ frame on a day glow orange bike must be invisible.

Growing up I have always wanted to be a ninja, I guess now i know what it feels like.

Yeah not as great as I thought it would be.

what roads are you riding on? I know one of them is saltsburg... you weren't headed home from the intersection of universal and saltsburgh, were you? There are a few gyms there... Or the Y on Frankstown? Frankstown people are a little jerky, but Saltsburg's never given me trouble.

Near my house there IS a guy I call The Invisible Man. I swear he's out for insurance money, because he's a decent sized black man, dressed all in black, riding a matte black bicycle, at night, against traffic, without a helmet or lights or reflectors. I am not making this up. I barely see him (usually milliseconds before I veer out of his way) biking up and down Third in rosedale at night any time I'm out after dark much. Scary.

As for the aiming, you know how cars tend to magically drift in the direction the driver is looking? Maybe it's the "hey, is that a really big guy on a bright orange bike I see? oops..." drift? Or you just have the absolute worst luck in riding in PH?

I go to the gym on saltsburg by universal. (the one that used to be a gym)

Mostly things are good, just was a bunch of peple on cell phones for the most part and one guy who just had to get out of madonalds before I got across the entrance.

I usually have no problems, when I rode into town on car free friday I had a bunch of great experiences, people giving me lots of room. all in all a good day, just somedays are good, and some not so much

hmm... there was another post on here about McDonalds and a driving school instructor unable to get his McPancakes fast enough and had to buzz a cyclist...

Two data points are enough for me to conclude the problem is McDonalds :D

I used to go to the CrossFit when it was in Verona, and I tried to make the switch to the new location on Washington Blvd but it's just too far.

Here's hoping you have more excellent Car Free Fridays, and fewer McDonalds Cell Phone Attacks :D
