Tippy top route scouting

I was out scouting routes for a Bike Fest route last night. The idea is a casual and gentle ride to the highest points in the city proper. I am still looking for the nice and easy route up Mt Washington.

Last night I crossed Greenleaf off the list. Much steeper than I remembered, and no way am I leading a group around the West End formerly-known-as-Circle.

Here are the roads I know of:

Greenleaf

McArdle

Arlington

Sycamore

18th

Josephine

Am I missing any? I'm thinking that Sunday morning up McArdle might be the easiest and nicest.

They just announced on the radio this morning that there would be new traffic patterns on McArdle starting next month. Not sure when this road work will start...

Concur, McArdle on a Sunday morning would be great.

Also, Williams is really nice but it's one way going the other way so I doubt you really want to do that. Still, it's one of my favorite city roads.

CLICK MEH!

This is the only "easy" way that I know. An alternate is to bear off of 18th at monastery. Then St. Martin to St. Thomas to Warrington. However, it's pretty steep between St. Thomas and the beginning of Warrington.

BTW, the Tippy Top ride will be Sunday morning, Aug. 16.

Wow. And I don't mean that in a good way.

But I was planning a different descent.

dude mcardle has needed to be fixed for so long.

there was a string of friday nights in a taxi where

i either HIT a giant pot hole myself or saw people

pulled over fixing flats from said pot hole.

They would fill it and it would come back. all

winter / spring on one of the darkest roads around.
