Friday Evening, on Wood, close to Liberty, I saw a bicyclist talking to two cops. I kinda hung around to see what was on. I overheard the bicyclist thanking the cops for being there and one cop saying something like "we take this seriously." I was curious, but the sidewalk was crowded, so I moved on. AS teh comments point out, there is the occasional biker that could use a talking to by the police. Unless enforcement is draconian or nonsensical, I don't care much.

When I was riding in this morning, approximately 6:20, there was a lot of flashing lights at Boulevard of the Allies at Grant Street. Several police cars and one of those bigger trucks. It looked like they were blocking the outbound lane but when I got down to the Boulevard and Smithfield I could see that traffic was getting around. Didn't ride over to see what was going on. Not sure if this had anything to do with the cyclist stop time stamped an hour later.

nope. that was a car on car collision. it happened right in front of Stef (she was looking behind her for people blowing the light as she entered grant from EFT so she actually missed the collision itself). She was on bike, called 911, and stayed until the police came, but since she missed the details wasn't actually a witness so they had her leave.

Yeah there was a 2 vehicle collision at 5:54am at grant and blvd of the allies. It sounded like a construction vehicle working somewhere but only with shattering glass. The vehicles involved were two SUVs. It was unbelievable because it took me a minute to get through the intersection safely to a sidewalk where I could put my bike down, get my phone out of my plastic bag, call 911, and check on the female driver still in her car, and I was the first to call 911. no other drivers stopped!! The lady was in the middle of the intersection and people looked annoyed that they had to go around. Amazing. There is still broken glass and debris pushed off to the side of the road near the curb in the outbound lane of BOA and grant. Careful out there. I may have mentioned that on the way home from a ride yesterday morning at 44th and butler with Ben and one other rider, we witnessed someone blow right through a red light on butler well after we got the green. Good thing it took us a bit to get going or one of is would have been clobbered. It's like the guy just did it on purpose, but when I screamed at him that he ran the red light (I must be loud cause he kept going), he said something like "yeah I know. I missed it".

'Yeah, I missed it." *shrug* "Didn't hit anyone, though. No harm, no foul, right?"
