Womens Intro Racing Clinic June 27th (Saturday)
The Women's Intro Racing Clinic is on for this Saturday, June 17th, at 9AM at the Washington Oval.
Steel City Endurance Racing/Allegheny CYcling Association will be hosting a Women's only introduction to Bicycle racing at the Washington Oval. Come and learn what bike racing is all about in a supportive, encouraging, non-threatening environment.
We will introduce riders to the banked oval, practice taking the turns at safe speeds, discuss safety while riding in a group, practice skills such as bike handling, pacelining and passing.
We will also have some sit down time on the bleachers to talk about nutrition and any other questions that come up.
Sessions will be led by Coach Suzanne Atkinson, various members of the Steel City Endurance Racing Team and Chris Mayhew of JBV Coaching.
Cost will be $10 which includes insurance and a one-day USA Cycling license. You will need a road bike in good working order, helmet required.

There are races tonight but I can't go. I hope to before the end of summer though, despite knowing that everyone else has been racing since april.
I think there were 12 women there who weren't on the team? Good turn out... not too many commuters though, which surprised me!
There is another women's race tomorrow as a part of the picnic. Glad you were able to make it Caitlin.
