BIKEFEST! ALMOST HERE!

BikeFest! 2005 is almost here! This 10-day celebration of the bicycle kicks off in less than two weeks – from June 17th through June 26th. BikeFest! Bike Pittsburgh is putting the final touches on our calendar of events – check it out online at our website: http://www.Bike-Pgh.org – there are at least two dozen events scheduled, most of them free!

A 12″ x 18″ poster with a calendar of events on one side, and the BikeFest! graphic on the other is now available at local shops all around the city. If you’re a Bike Pittsburgh Member we’ll be mailing you one, shortly. If you’re not a member, and can’t find one at a coffee shop/bike store/eatery near you, email us your mailing address, and we’ll get you one right out.

BikeFest! events include: kid-friendly venues, clinics, workshops, rides, lectures, movies, music, races, and more! What are you waiting for? If you haven’t seen the current calendar of events, visit the website now! BikeFest! has been made possible in part by a generous grant from The Sprout Fund (http://www.sproutfund.org).

GROCERY SHOPPING CAR FREE?

If bicycle trailer(s) were available on site at the grocery store would you shop on your bike? To see how this could be done, visit: (http://www.bikehod.com/bike-hod/shopping.html).

A proposal is being developed to make these available at Whole Foods and other East End shops. You would use the trailer to shop (up to 80lbs), hitch it on your bike, ride home and then ride it back.

If you have thoughts about this, would be interested in participating, or have more questions email: (blenderguy@bike-pgh.org).

No more hunting parking spots!
