Who has the Right of Way – Residents or Cars?
East Liberty residents and Action United are planning a protest of the dangerous intersection at the new East Liberty Target. The intersection, with it’s pedestrian unfriendly crossing has been a point of contention since it was built a few years back. Below is Action United’s call out.
Children stuck on corners, residents with disabilities caught in the middle of intersections, confused pedestrians struggling to find a safe way across the streets. This is the new normal in East Liberty since the new traffic patterns accompanying recent development took hold.
On Friday we will hand over nearly 1000 petitions and get a chance to voice our concerns to Patrick Hasset, the assistant director of the Bureau of Transportation and Engineering, who has agreed to work with the community on finding solutions.
Join ACTION UNITED members for a press conference and protest over these dangerous conditions:
Friday, November 15th 11:30 am
Penn Ave and Beatty St.
