Help the MGR Foundation engage youth through biking
MGR Youth Empowerment is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for cycling and experience in youth development to serve as Program Assistants for an after school mentor program: Positive Spin Youth Cycling.
Positive Spin teaches youth essential skills about cycling and maintaining bicycles while exploring Pittsburgh’s trail systems. It culminates in a long distance student mentor ride along the GAP. Positive Spin empowers youth to advocate for positive changes in their communities relative to their health and wellbeing. This subcontractor position will take place after school at Pittsburgh Public Schools and/or Clairton School District.
Mentors must have or be willing to obtain all three Pennsylvania State Clearances. Please submit resumes and statement of interest to Julie Mallis, Active Health Program Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more at http://www.mgrf.org/Programs/
BikePGH’s Better Bikeways Vision stresses that Pittsburgh’s bike routes must be interconnected, safe, attractive, and comfortable in order to appeal to people of all ages, especially those who are interested in riding a bike but concerned for their safety.
