Antonio Brown’s Drive With Care PSA featured on Bicycling.com

In case you hadn’t heard, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and father, Antonio Brown, loves bike riding. Over the past few days, Antonio’s been getting some great press in the cycling world touting not only his appreciation of bicycling but also his advocacy with Bike Pittsburgh. We couldn’t agree more: it’s pretty darn cool that Antonio Brown rides a bike, but it’s really, really cool that he speaks out the importance of making Pittsburgh’s streets safer.

…Brown explained that he started riding—with clipless pedals, even—to tone muscles for football, especially those around his knees. But the more he did it, the more he remembered the fun he had riding BMX as a kid. Now, he rides road and mountain, says, “I like both. It depends on the scenery. Here in Pittsburgh we have a lot of hills, but we also have a lot of mountain bike trails, so I have a bike for that. So I get to have the best of both worlds.”

Brown’s dedication to cycling also takes an activist slant: he’s in a PSA for Bike Pittsburgh about leaving room on the road for cyclists. Now that’s a true cycling fan—in return, we may even start watching football this season…
