6 can’t miss events in 2017

It might be chilly out but it is never too early to plan for summer fun.

Get your calendars out and mark down the dates for these not to be missed upcoming events in 2017. This year we have a ton of amazing programs to look ahead to. We hope to see you at all of these events this year! Remember to plan ahead and pack sunscreen and a smile.

1. Women & Biking Forum 

The Fourth Annual Pittsburgh Women & Biking Forum presented by Dollar Bank will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 at the Ace Hotel. Join 100+ women for a day of kinship and learning featuring 6 workshops, a keynote speaker, and lunch. This year’s workshops will include topics such as: bike maintenance, cycling wellness, commuting, competitive cycling, and advocacy!

2. Bike to Work Day

May is National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to giving biking a try. Plus, Bike to Work Day is a great day to be a member. Save the date for Bike to Work Day: Friday, May 19th!

To date more than 100,000 people have come out to Bike, Walk, Run, and Dance in the streets.  We are really excited to launch a third new  route for 2017 but that’s not all.  We have a few surprises in the works this year for 3 more fantastic events on the last Sunday of May, June, and July.

  • Sunday, May 28th • NEW ROUTE: Southside / Uptown / Downtown
  • Sunday, June 25th: West End / Northside / Downtown
  • Sunday, July 30th: Lawrenceville / Strip District / Downtown

6. UPMC Health Plan PEDALPGH

The regions largest bike ride is back and better than ever with new routes and much more on Sunday, August 27th. Keep an eye out for more announcements this spring and registration going on sale May 1st, 2017.
