New Study Gives Community Vision for Connecting Lower Northside Neighborhoods

Walk Ride Northside released a vision for neighborhood biking connections

At the end of 2016, Walk Ride Northside released an extensive study that gives a community vision for connecting Lower Northside neighborhoods to the City’s bike network. Together with a team of dedicated community advocates, stakeholders and decision makers, Walk Ride Northside worked to solve problems of connectivity and street design.  This document can serve as a foundation for the Northside portion City’s upcoming Bike Plan and lead the way to construction of these projects.

The Lower Northside Bicycle Connector Study was made possible with funding from the Buhl Foundation and support from Pashek Associates, the Northside Leadership Conference, the Northside Community Development Fund, the Pittsburgh Department of City Planning, and dozens of neighborhood volunteers.

This project is an incredible example of what an organized group of neighbors can accomplish. BikePGH enthusiastic to continue organizing with Walk Ride Northside to make this vision a reality.  To all who would like to join our effort, Walk Ride Northside’s next meeting is February 7th, 6pm at Penn Brewery.
