I noticed a glitch the other day when I tried to PM someone. It seemed like it sent a message to outer space, rather than t the person whose name I clicked to send the PM.
are Private Messages working
I received two PMs in the past 24 hours, and cannot read either one. In the message list, there is no title, and hence nothing to click on. Is this just coincidence, that two people did not put a title on their PM to me, or is there a problem with the message system?
PMs have always been flaky AFAIK. It may depend on exactly how the message was sent, i.e. clicking on PM in a message thread vs. someone's profile vs. going to PMs and clicking "New PM", but I'm not sure.
Links in a user's profile do not work:

Links on any forum thread do work:
i have noticed that PMs are unreadable if there is no subject
just follow dwillen's photo. i'll look into it. never been able to figure that one out. but haven't really put a lot of time into it either
You could probably read a PM with no subject by grabbing the link out of the HTML code. (Use the View Source command in your browser, then look for where the link should be and find the part that says something like [a href="this is the link here"]. Then copy the link into your browser's address bar.)
erok, if you're looking into it, i noticed the 3rd method i mentioned isn't working either (go to inbox then pick "New PM").
i tried it before and the page got cut off, it got down to "Pick who you'd like to send your message to:" and that was the end of the page. IIRC it used to have a drop-down with everyone's username. maybe not the greatest idea in any case, but maybe now there are too many users for it to work at all. now when I try it I get an error:
Send Private Message
Pick who you'd like to send your message to:

Yes, that does provide a functional workaround. The trick is to highlight from a few lines before to a few lines after the unclickable messages, then right-click and select View Selection Source (in Firefox, at least). Then look for an entry like this.
http://bike-pgh.org/bbpress/message.php?id=NNNN
Copy that link and paste it into the browser's address bar. Ta da! Message!
I'm certain that the message was enlightening.
