baggy shorts/capris

the pair that i have been wearing over my chamois for many years finally has two broken zippers (i know kennywood is open).

ladies, do you have a pair that you wear and love? i am looking for a baggy style with at least one size pocket with zipper to put my valuables in (cell phone, key). i prefer detachable chamois. i struck out at both oft he REIs in the area recently and have been looking online. i also don't want to spend a million dollars either. i am not so much of a fan of men's because the crotch hangs lower, so when i get onto my bike, it kinda gets hung up on the front of the saddle.

I know i'm not a woman, but i found some shorts at H&M last week for 10bucks, they aren't riding shorts, but they are thin, lightweight, no zipper pockets but i thought i'd at least give you one reply! 10 bucks for shorts sounds good to me.I've ridden a good 100miles in them so far and they seem to be holding up nicely.

I wear these convertible pants/shorts that I got at REI like 4 years ago. They're super thin, pretty strong (though there is a hole in one knee by now), full of pockets, and they're not "Hi I participate in a sport with clearly identifyable clothing" type shorts. I think they are REI brand, I'll check when I get home.

stefb, are you referring to the sort of shorts that saltm513 was wearing in the May FOC ride?

i wasn't on the may ride, so i'm not sure.

also, i was going to just say that you have chicken legs, nick, but then that might have sounded insulting/sounded like i thought you were weak. i added muscley cause you can pedal a bike up a hill.

Well this basically doesn't meet any of the requirements you set, but have you ever tried womens BDUs?

I'm not sure about the crotch issue, but from personal experience the pockets are bullet proof, they have buttons rather than zippers, but I've never lost anything, and they last a long time.

They have pockets and are durable basically. Maybe that women bike cop in East Liberty might have something to say about them. (Not sure if she wears them or cycling shorts, I haven't really had the chanceinclination to check her out)
