Ben Avon now bike friendly!

I went away for a couple of days, and came back to find..... NEW SHARROWS on Church Street in Ben Avon, just a couple blocks from my house! It looks like they run the length of Church Street in Ben Avon. It's only a mile, but it is the first bike "infrastructure" in this section of the County. Thank you, Ben Avon, for making your community just a little more bike friendly. I'll be appreciating those sharrows at the beginning/end of my bike commute on a regular basis!

I saw this too. I like that it's there, but I haven't had many issues in the area, people seem courteous and traffic isn't ever above 30 mph anyways.

RR - I agree to your assessment. But it's a nice gesture!

Baby steps. This isn't going to get someone to haul their bike out of the basement and ride to West Newton tomorrow afternoon, but it might just encourage them to roll to the store or library or church or a lunch date or something. Bit by baby bit, the world is changing.
