Police are investigating how a bicyclist died last night in Penn Township, Westmoreland County.

PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Westmoreland County bicyclist was found dead Thursday night on Boquet Road, approximately 200 feet from his house in Penn Township.

The body of Thomas Arlie Grant, 60, showed signs of trauma, indicating that he had an accident while riding his bike or was struck by a car, according to the county coroner's office.

The coroner has not determined how Grant died. An autopsy was scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Friday.

While IANAC (I am not a coroner), it shouldn't seem too difficult to discern the difference between being rear-ended and crashing into something. There would be clear evidence on the bicycle, too.

This also reminds me of a thread from just a couple months back about an accident somewhere else in Westmoreland County. How close together were these two incidents?

"While IANAC (I am not a coroner), it shouldn't seem too difficult to..."

It's about time someone came up with a concise way to let others know you are not in fact a coroner. This is going to prevent confusion and save us all a lot of time.
