Seems like they put a lot of love into for just a short commute.

I reckon the bike industry relies heavily on people who just this sort of thing (for more evidence, check out the sorts of bling people are riding during cat 4/5 road races).

If I were at all interested in this bike, I'd definitely do my fair share of due diligence to be sure the bike wasn't stolen (should be standard CL practice). I suspect that if it was stolen, we'd see a post on CL or even here about the bike being missing.

Same. I need a proper touring bike and that's some kit for the money. Pretty well fits me too.

Seriously. Wish this was six months ago before I bought my long haul trucker frame.

Hard to imagine that someone would steal a bike and know the provenance of the components like that.

The ad would be more like "Fast bike! Almost new! $150."

I could have sworn a saw a CList ad earlier in the week that touted the bike as a necessity of an absurdly short commute. Bloomfield -> Friendship maybe?

I read this as

"I spent all of my money on a car, sweet guitar, and a bag of weed and need do get a cheapo bike"

That's so wasteful. Who would anyone want to blow their money on a car and a guitar?

Members of the Bicycle Busker Band (in my imagination) might want to spend money on guitars, though.

You still breathe the exhaust in a car, as well as all the VOCs outgassed by the interior plastics.
